Welcome to the first All Tango Barcelona,
let yourself be enchanted by this magnificent city, a three-day weekend,
by the sea.
A little tip: add an extra day before, or after, or both...
To make the most of it!
This marathon will bring together all types of tango under one roof,
with a traditional DJ (tango from the last century, with tanda and cortinas).
A DJ playing tango from this century (all the tracks are from the last century, but the arrangements can be surprising. Tandas & Cortinas).
A Neo Tango DJ, without tandas or cortinas.
A free DJ, who will play all kinds of tango. The others will of course be allowed to escape a little. This marathon is for open-minded dancers, who are asked to bring their good humor.

Tiny Neo Tango Barcelona

Program

For participants arriving on Thursday, we suggest:
3 p.m.: City dance tour of Barcelona. We are in the historic district of Gracia, and it's beautiful! (details to follow).
Pre-party: we will try to find a typical or interesting Milonga in Barcelona. I have sent out a few requests, and as soon as we get some good responses, they will be posted here.
In any case, there is always Casa Valencia, Barcelona's iconic Thursday night Milonga.
Note: this day is not part of the marathon.

The DJs

● Naoko
DJ Naoko is a traditional tango DJ renowned for her “100% danceable” selection. Since her debut in Buenos Aires in 2009 as resident DJ at TANGOCOOL, she has shared her unique sound in 26 countries. Originally from Japan, she continues to spread her passion for tango around the world.

● Sara
You probably know Sara, a versatile DJ who is comfortable with all types of tango. A pioneer of neo tango with “Sur les rives del Tango” and organizer of nearly 30 marathons, she will have you dancing to neo tango... and perhaps even more.

● Alejandro
A dancer and DJ, Alejandro builds his sets by observing the dance floor and reading the crowd. His music ranges from soft to dynamic, creating musical journeys between traditional and alternative styles. Attentive and present, he maintains good vibes and takes care of the dancers' experience.

● Phil
DJ, tango, since 2017, I only play bands from this century that cover tango standards from the last century. I
will be your DJ Tango Nuevo, or Modern Bands, you can call it whatever you want... in any case, what interests me is that the more you enjoy yourselves, the more inspiration I will have. You know what you have to do!

There is no selection mode in my marathons. It's first come, first served.
Parity, leader / follower works like this: when there are five people too many in a role, this role is automatically blocked, until the balance returns. When the balance returns, 5 tickets are put on sale, and the first 3 on the waiting list are notified. Two tickets are left free, for chance.

The venue
New marathon, new venue!
It is located at 78, rue de la Providència, in the Gracia district of Barcelona, near the Joanic metro station (line 4). It has a smooth wooden floor and a large changing room for your belongings. There will also be a shop open one hour a day selling tango clothing, which is part of this hall, and a bar, both run by the owner.
Accomodation
It's in the city center, so book in advance!
There are quite a few Airbnb options nearby, and we're currently looking into one or two hotels nearby as well. When we find them, we will write them down here.
But if you find something on your own, don't hesitate. Barcelona isn't the cheapest city.
From the airport, the best is to take the A1 Aerobus from Terminal 1 (or A2 from T2) which goes to Plaza Catalunya in 35 minutes, departures every 5 minutes. Price: 6.75 euros.
Or a train from Terminal 2 to Sants Station in 22 minutes, departures every 30 minutes, for the price of a metro ticket.
For public transport (train, metro, bus, tram) the T-Familiar ticket has 8 multi-person journeys for 19.50 euros
Approximate price of a taxi from the airport to the venue: 40 euros
The VTC service is not very extensive…
Parking in Barcelona is expensive but we found one: €81 for 5 days and after that you can park in several different car parks.
Few little tips to make your life easier.
